The black rhino

The black rhino is a nine day itinerary that sets off in mkomazi national park located in northeastern Tanzania on the Kenyan border, in Same District of Kilimanjaro Region. The rhino sanctuary in Mkomazi is working to build a viable breeding population of 50 black rhinos, whose offspring will be used to strengthen the existing populations in Tanzania. The rhinos in the Mkomazi Rhino Sanctuary make up to nearly 30% of the total black rhinoceros population in Tanzania.


Arusha (Day1)

After your arrival at the airport, you will be picked up and accompanied by our guide to your lodge that is located near or inside Mkomazi national park.


Mkomazi (Day 2)

After breakfast you will enjoy a full day game drive inside mkomazi national park and spend the night in Mkomazi national park.
This park with sahel habitat finds itself in a beautiful setting with both the Pare and Usambara Mountains towering above its boundaries. To the south the Pare and Usambara Mountains form a dramatic backdrop and to the north, Kenya’s vast Tsavo National Park shares a border with Mkomazi, making common ground for migratory herds of elephant, oryx and zebra. Together with Tsavo, it forms one of the largest and most important protected ecosystems on earth. Depending on the weather, Mount Kilimanjaro can also be seen from the park.This park is also a  vital refuge for two highly endangered species, the charismatic black rhino and sociable African wild dogs.

Mkomazi to Arusha (Day 3)

After breakfast you will go on a six hours game drive inside mkomazi national park then you will enjoy your hot lunch in your lodge before exiting the national park.
You will head towards Arusha and spend the night in a lodge/hotel.

Tarangire (Day 4)

You will have your breakfast in your hotel in Arusha then commence your journey towards Tarangire national park.Once in Tarangire national park,you will start your game drive then later on you will have lunch in one of the picnic sites in the national park.After the game drive you will spend the night in one of the lodges/tended camps in the national park.
Tarangire National Park is a gemstone among Tanzania's national parks and wildlife reserves.It is located in the northern part of the country and it stretches over 2,850 square kilometers, the national park is renowned for its diverse landscapes, rich biological diversity, and iconic baobab trees. Tarangire offers a quieter, more intimate safari experience compared to the more famous Serengeti and Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Karatu ( Day 5)

After an early breakfast you will go on a five hour game drive have lunch then exit the national park.
You will drive to karatu district where you will spend your night in a lodge.

Ngorongoro crater (Day 6)

You will have early breakfast in order to arrive at the crater floor while it is still morning.After a six hour game drive in ngorongoro crater, you will have your lunch in a picnic site in the crater and then exit the crater.
You will head towards Serengeti where you will spend the night.
The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a distinctive and diverse wildlife reserve located in northern Tanzania. Covering  approximately 8,292 square kilometers, it is renowned for its beautiful landscapes, rich biodiversity, and the famous Ngorongoro Crater. The area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and offers visitors an extraordinary safari experience combined with cultural encounters.

Serengeti (Day 7and 8)

After breakfast you will go on a full day game drive in serengeti and spend a night in the national park.
The following day you will go on a five hour game drive and then exit the park.
You you will head back to karatu via ngorongoro conservation area.
Serengeti is definitely one of the most famous National parks in the world, located in northern Tanzania. It stretches over 14,750 square kilometers and is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes, diverse ecosystems, and abundant wildlife. The park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and offers visitors an unforgettable safari experience.

Mto wa mbu (Day 9)

After breakfast you will drive from karatu to Mto wa mbo for the day’s activities.
After those activities you will head back to Arusha/ airport.

Biking near the rice fields and banana plantations in Mto wa mbu is drastically becoming one of the unforgettable activities in that place.It becomes even more interesting when it’s facilitated by a local tour guide who speaks good English and gives accurate information.
You will also visit the Makonde tribe and learn their wood curving abilities.You will learn how the Chaga women brew local banana beer and prepare banana wine. The women will also prepare for you a hearty lunch consisting of mainly local foods
